The Sidewalks of Silicon Valley?

I got a text from my neighbor yesterday. She said there's a robot across the street. Turns out that an outfit called BoxBot is testing their delivery robot in my neighborhood!


As is often the case, they were a bit camera shy, though polite about it.



Basically this is just an orange box with a guy following it holding a remote control. I'm assuming that this is supposed to be autonomous at some point, but it doesn't look that close.
