Way Less or Waymo?

It was overdue for a visit down to Mountain View. Things had changed at Google, Alphabet, or now Waymo as they're calling their self driving car program this week.

I figured it was time to update my library and add a post to the Streets of Silicon Valley with some new photos including new logos and slight variations to the prototype cars.

Also worth noting- since changing the logos to Waymo the hipster-kid artwork has disappeared from the doors and there's a glowing bar across the door. I'll have to look and see how long ago this happened but there's another peculiar change I just noticed: the digital rear view mirrors are still there, but new conventional "old school" rear view mirrors are blocking the fancy digital mirrors. What gives? No idea.

One disappointment was not seeing the new Fiat Chrysler minivan. I spent plenty of time and did a few loops around the Google, Alphabet,  Waymo HQ. But I've seen the aforementioned vehicle in the wild on Mario Herger's Last Driver's License Holder blog. I'll keep my eyes peeled.

And in the interim I'm planning on going to see an event at Renault-Nissan in Sunnyvale tomorrow and hope to have a few interesting photos to show soon.

Also, I can't keep the dumb puns out of my head with the new goofy "Waymo" name: Less is Waymo, I was expecting Waymo, or I was expecting way more from Waymo or .... sorry really dumb but I can't help it.

As usual, a shout out to the friendly folks at Reddit's Self Driving Car discussion for their help and support!
